Dr. Jenny Dakin
Veterinarian
Dr. Jenny Dakin joined UAC after her graduation from Iowa State University with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM). She attended University of Florida and earned her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science. Dr. Jenny has a special interest in dermatology and surgery. She is Fear-Free Certified, which is a certification that is specific to preventing and alleviating fear, anxiety and stress in pets. After graduation, Dr. Jenny wanted to move back to her home town to practice veterinary medicine to be closer to her family. In her free time, she loves to be outdoors on the water fishing or at her family’s dairy farm. She shares her home with her French bulldog “Nugget” and her German short hair pointer mix, “Chubs”.

Hello! I'm Doctor Jennifer Dakin, veterinarian here at University Animal Clinic.
Doctor Dakin, why did you choose this profession?
I was told ever since I was a little girl I wanted to be a veterinarian, but I think it really solidified when I was in four Future Farmers of America, all the way from middle school to high school!
What would be something people would be surprised to learn about you?
I love arts and crafts. I also love to be outdoors and go fishing!
What is your favorite part of veterinary care?
I love dermatologic conditions. Pimples, abscesses, and wound care are my favorite.
If you could eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I really love Mexican... so TACOS!.
What is your favorite color?
Turquoise.
