Dr. Alexis Schweiberger
Veterinarian
Hi! My name is Dr. Alexis Schweiberger but you can call me Dr. Lexi!
My roots began in my hometown of Erie, Pennsylvania, where I found my passion for animals as a child. When I moved to Florida in 2009, I was actively involved in FFA throughout high school and also began to shadow Dr. Samanowitz my freshman year. As a graduate of the University of Florida, I earned both my Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Sciences followed my Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. I am an avid sports fanatic and love attending games, especially for my favorite teams: Go Steelers, Go Penguins, Go Gators! In my free time I enjoy traveling and going on adventures with my fiancé, Paul and our Golden Retriever, Tucker. I am happy to be a part of UAC team and I look forward to loving and caring for your pets!

Hello! I'm Doctor Alexis (Lexi) Schweiberger, veterinarian here at University Animal Clinic.
Doctor Schweiberger, why did you choose this profession?
I've always wanted to be a veterinarian since I was little girl, but I originally thought I wanted to be a mixed, small and large veterinarian. I moved down to Florida before starting high school, and funny enough, doctor Sam was my neighbor! And so I shadowed her for a couple of years. I was in Future Farmers of America in high school, showed cattle and ended up actually publishing a few studies at the University of Florida with dairy calves and and their social behaviors. Ultimately, I decided to be a small animal vet, but all of the experience is great.
What would be something people would be surprised to learn about you?
I am a big sports fan! So I'm from Pennsylvania and I love the Pittsburg Pengius, and the Pittsburgh Steelers. And of course because I went to the University of Florida, I am a HUGE Gators fan, too!
What is your favorite part of veterinary care?
If you asked me in veterinary school, I probably would have said dermatology, but now, I've found a passion for cardiology.
If you could eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
I would have to say Texas Roadhouse Caesar salad with a nice little roll on the side.
What is your favorite color?
My favorite color is blue.
